First, I am very happy to note that I *provisionally* passed the CISSP exam on 11/25/2025! Relieved and happy to note this, but I am having trouble registering for membership on the website.
A little professional background: I have an advanced degree in distributed systems (multihop wireless networks) from 2007 (defended my dissertation in 2006); 11 years of telecommunications industry experience variously as a software developer, architecture and CTO-office work developing protocols and systems for the wireless (3GPP/2), cable (PCMM/CableLabs) and wireline (BBF/former DSL Forum) industries (12 patents issued). I then moved to enterprise software, first at HPE in Jan. 2018 developing cloud-based technologies for GRC (one patent issued) and then at Uptycs briefly developing Cloud Security solutions and then at FIdelity Investments (3.5 years until April 2025) where I led a team doing cloud technologies, security architecture, modernizing the application platforms, modernizing their DB and storage platforms and such. All in all, this is basically 19 years or so of relevant experience, counting my dissertation as one year.
Well, I am having multiple issues with registering for membership.
1. No place to enter education.
2. Unable to add job info as it requires a company letterhead offerletter which I don't have (my last employer did not give me an offer letter in company letterhead).
3. Despite this, I added a note to my application (uploaded a word document stating above), but I am now seeing the following information "Please note, you have not met the minimum experience requirement within this application. Please see the ISC2 website for the requirements for the certification you are seeking."
Confused. Is it because I am currently unemployed and looking for new positions?
Any insight is appreciated.
