SSCP Experience Requirement

Hi All,

 

I work in Technical Sales as a Solution Architect for a DevSecOps tool that offers SAST and SCA and other Application Security capabilities.  I'm interested in adding in an ISC certifaction to boost my overall domain knowledge as well as some "street cred".  Im curious if Solutions Engineering / Sales Engineering counts toward relevant experience for the SSCP.  

 

I realize that I won't get a definitive answer, but just looking for a quick temperature check to see if anyone in the certified community has used technical sales experience as a road to meet the requirement.

The best way to determine that is to print off the exam objectives (ISC2 calls it exam outline) and note your experience next to the relevant items.  That lets you know if have the experience and is helpful in filling out your endorsement.  I would suggest the CC first while the self-study training and exam voucher are no cost for most.  I think that reduces the stress of an ISC2 exam and is a nice stepping stone into ISC2 exams.  Best wishes.
