Personal Development and exam CPE

Hi All,

I'm looking at moving upward to obtain CCSP, how many CPE credits would I receive once passing?

Also, in the CPE portal https://learn.isc2.org/d2l/home there is no access to any of the free content for members, why is that? Can any of the experts resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hello @Mike404 - good question! You don't earn CPE credit for the act of passing the exam. Instead, you can submit your preparation for the exam for CPE credit in the CPE portal. That can be done for self-study (1 hour = 1 credit) or a course you've taken. The limit is 40 credits for this single exercise of certification preparation.

Could you elaborate on your second question? I'm not sure I understand what the issue is. Let me know!

Thanks Kaity,

Would the credits only apply upon passing the exam?

In terms of the second question, if you were to go to: https://www.isc2.org/professional-development

Select, say, An Orientation to Cloud Native, and select Free for Members, the course does not add itself to your account. I hope this clarifies my question.

Thanks, @Mike404! No - even after you pass the exam, you don't get CPE credits for passing. You can submit via the CPE portal anytime (before or after you pass) what you did to prepare for the exam (took a X-hour long course, self-study for X number of hours, etc.) and submit THAT as activity to earn credits.
