I'm not sure where to post this, but I want to make everyone aware of the issues I've experienced over the last few weeks. I recently passed my CISSP exam 😀 which feels great, but now the experience of becoming a member is starting to make me regret my decision.
Upon passing my exam I received an email saying I need to complete my application. Clicking the link takes me to my dashboard, and I was unable to find the area where I could actually complete it. A coworker who is a member sent me a direct link, where I was able to complete the application. The application page had no record of my passed exam - but had a chart for displaying the passed exams. I called multiple times and selected the "Call me back" option. I never received a call back. I called and stayed on hold, and the calls were disconnected. Eventually after the sixth or seventh time of waiting on hold, I was able to talk to a person who was knowledgable and confirmed they had record of me passing my exam and of the application.
I then receive an email that my application was approved 😀. I carefully read the instructions, click on "Member Dashboard" find the "Pay AMF" menu item, and I'm dropped to my Dashboard where I don't see any area to pay my dues. I'm now back into calling into the support line, waiting on hold only to be disconnected, and then calling back. Third time is the charm right?
I'm posting this here so others can be made aware of the hassle that 'onboarding' onto becoming a member of the ISC2 is quite difficult at this time. I hope that the situation can be improved.
The ISC2 website was very recently redesigned (maybe about 3 weeks or so ago).
The staff is fixing the remaining bugs as they are reported here.
The AMF fee is displayed in the Dashboard area of the portal as displayed below:
Thanks for the reply, but my member dashboard doesn't display that. based on your screen shot and the YouTube video describing the dashboard, it should be directly below the yellow banner, but I don't see it.
I understand the website redesign has caused some issues, but what about the phone support? If you've ever had to call in, is waiting on hold for 15 minutes then the call being cancelled the "normal" expectation?
@learningdaily No, that is not normal for phone support. My only guess is that there are a lot of people calling because of issues. No one at work has had any issues scheduling exams or paying AMFs. I did look at my account and does show that the AMF is up to date. So there is something else going on for sure because there have been a lot of problem reports here. Congratulations, hopefully this will work out soon.
Phone support may be overwhelmed at this time.
There's also chat support on the bottom right hand corner of the ISC2.org web page.
If you don't see that payment option, it may be that your application is still being processed. I'd give it 2 weeks.
To update anyone reading this post. The team at isc2 was eventually able to resolve the issues and I've now earned my credential. Sometimes just a bit of patience is what is needed. Thanks all.
I recently dealt with a similar thing and they also took care of it. I am on the front end just scheduling my exam. Congratulations to you on passing your exam.
This is the issue I am having, I made a separate post in the welcome section: Error when trying to pay $50 annual maintenance fe...
Cant get chat or phone support, thinking the staff might be swamped.
