Hi All
Study this report, and realise how serious this is, and how it undermines the Western World.

In the comments section of that article the author wrote -
Based on what has been reported, the hack never happened and companies denied its claims. Apple wrote a letter to Congress, saying the story was “simply wrong.”
I thought this sounded familiar. This story first came out in 2018: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infilt.... There was much follow-up, and the major companies and governments involved said there was no evidence for the claims made by Bloomberg. Bloomberg followed up a little over a year ago, repeating their claims, but providing more quotations and context: https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-supermicro/. So far as I know, there is still no entity that has found one of these unauthorized chips. That doesn't mean it didn't happen; there just isn't enough information to corroborate the claims.

@jmikesmith @Shilpa I remain suspicious; given my previous background and occupation. Plus given the history of Zero Day exploits and various other issues that have arisen in the past, it sounds as though it is a question of feasibility vs in-feasibility rather than a question of it being impossible.
Rather like someone stating in the past, that it was not possible to leak light from fibre optic cables - this of course has been proven incorrect.
It certainly points to a long term approach which is discussed in the following:

Definitely well worth reading, for background purposes and influence.
