Worlds Fastest Supercomputer Planned at ORNL

The U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) and Cray are planning to build the worlds fastest supercomputer at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The computer code named "Frontier" will be capable of 1.5 exaflops, which will be 50 times faster than today's top supercomputer. It will be capable of 10^18 calculations per second. In addition, the lab’s Center for Accelerated Application Readiness is now accepting proposals from scientists to prepare their code to run on Frontier.

Now the hardware: the system will be composed of more than 100 Cray Shasta cabinets with high density compute blades powered by HPC and AI-optimized AMD EPYC processors and Radeon Instinct GPU accelerators purpose-built for the needs of exascale computing. The new accelerator-centric compute blades will support a 4:1 GPU to CPU ratio with high speed AMD Infinity Fabric links and coherent memory between them within the node. Each node will have one Cray Slingshot interconnect network port for every GPU with streamlined communication between the GPUs and network to enable optimal performance for high-performance computing and AI workloads at exascale.

Since we already simulated the creation of our universe pretty accurately please help me with naming new and exciting code to be executed?

Maybe how black hole singularities convert matter to space/time?

Prediction of where the other end of wormholes empty out?

Or cure cancer by predicting the gene mods needed to create patient killer cells for their cancer?

Invent CO2 extraction devices and convert to hydrogen for nuclear propulsion?

I'm sure you have many ideas yourself?
