The bracelet of silence

Hi All

It appears that many think that even now we have lost the IoT battle, so is the answer "a bracelet of silence" or could we do better?  https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/14/technology/alexa-jamming-bracelet-privacy-armor.html

Ugh! I have to reschedule this morning's meeting with you till early this afternoon. My personal jamming device is out of charge and I need at least half a charge before I meet with you.

Hope you understand. How's 2:00 PM (Local)?

Thanks and warm regards,

I wonder if it would be a good way to kill someone by messing with their
pacemaker/implanted defibrillator/insulin pump?

Well the US Army has a patent of the following, this is exactly what is needed:

As I understand it works by sending ultrasonic frequency sound waves that are not filtered by the recording devices and thus interfere with the ability of the circuitry to accurately record sounds in the normal audible range.

It does not emit significant EMF so I doubt it would affect a pacemaker/defib/insulin pump.

It would however severely impact anyone who has a hearing aid or cochlear implants if their devices do not filter out ultrasonic frequencies in their circuitry.

So for anyone who does want to try this out... please be aware of that possible impact.

@CraginS  Very good indeed.  The reality can be stranger.
