So you either forget your charging cable one evening, before returning home, or you have forgotten to take it into the office - this occurs more times than you wish. Or someone has conveniently borrowed it, and not informed you (yes it happens). But there is good reasons, for not borrowing other peoples. So don't take that your neighbours cable or charging plug is not rigged for such occasions,
It may not be prevalent, but it as good as the drop a USB stick type trick. We need to keeping and staying alert at all times, sounds paranoid, but it may save you a whole heap of trouble.

There was another post mentioning this; what I liked is the last line which questions the mindset of people when it comes to using other's USB cables.
The majority wouldn't have any qualms about that, most probably because they don't know about what it could lead to...
