Hi All
Has any one been involved in putting together a blueprint for a Smart City, dynamic digital transformation of an entire cities resources, capabilities including associated services?
I would be interested in hearing about peoples experiences and how they went about "eating an elephant, piece by piece" from an Enterprise Architect perspective.

@akkemOne issue I have come across is LoRaWAN version 1.1 is the latest, but only encrypts with AES-128 this is a prime candidate for PQC and I have asked the question when will it be converted to AES-256 bit at least from the Alliance leaders.
Because handling IoT devices in a Smart city is going to be a nightmare on steroids, and your current systems will definitely have to adhere to Zero Trust Security architecture from the outset. Another area is NIPS, IPS systems, will have to be enhanced because Smart Cities become a great target for all and sundry to try their luck on on and therefore automation and AI will definitely be required.
Let alone authentication, and I would not advocate using MS Entra for example as a dependable source.

Great question! Architecting a smart city definitely requires a step-by-step approach. From my experience, starting with foundational data infrastructure and integrating IoT systems for traffic, waste, and energy management sets a strong base. Stakeholder engagement and security-by-design principles are also critical. It's inspiring to see projects like bsd brawl kaze embracing tech in creative ways—there’s a lot we can learn from cross-domain innovation. Would love to hear more about others' phased strategies too.
