New Phone Phishing Scheme in Canada

Scammers are now making phone calls, asking folks to validate their Social Insurance Numbers (Social Security numbers) in Canada.

Once scammers have this information, they can literally still your identity.

After all this, you might think the government would issue some form of official warning to folks?  Or would that do more harm.

When I teach at the Senior's Center, I tell people, the Government will NOT call you on the phone nor will the police.  And if they do, go to the local police station to work out the issue do not provide information over the phone to anyone......right or wrong?
