Conficker making a comeback due to IoT

Hi All

Some important lessons to be learnt from this piece:

https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-poor-iot-security-is-allowing-this-ten-year-old-malware-to-make-a-...

IoT needs to be monitored and updated like other software, applications and desktops etc and not segmented.

Regards

Why one or the other?  Defense in depth is your friend.  I would suggest updated and segmented.

@denbesten   Thank you for the correction.  There is no solution to this once a worm is released into the wild, if IoT is not updated i.e. firm, hardened and secured - no matter if it is monitored, segmented or segregated it will still be prone to old threats.
