I'm new to the (ISC)^2 community and the cybersecurity field in general, thus I'm seeking to connect with members of our chapter to hopefully pick your brains on the cybersecurity scene in the Bay Area, especially its current trends and job market. I was thinking of offering a coffee break (virtual probably), but I'm completely open to any other ideas.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
I'm an (ISC)^2 Associate after passing the SSCP test last August 2021. My academic background is in Civil Engineering (BS and MS degrees) and I'm also a Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in California. I worked as a consultant for 4 years with global firm in the project finance industry, which roughly means that I worked in (due diligences)/(risk assessment) contracts for M&A, debt structuring, and capital raising transactions for players in the Public-Private Partnership market of infrastructure projects.
I decided to switch careers into cybersecurity at the start of 2021; consequently I am working towards a professional certificate in Cybersecurity at CCSF(expected to finish this December) and seeking to connect with the professional community around the US.
