Hi All
What would you do, if you found out your GP had attached your brain to the internet?

I for one see many positive possibilities for things like this. Sadly people seem to find ways to abuse things for their own personal gains. But if something like this could allow communication for someone who otherwise cannot I feel it would be helpful. I see this as a step in a good direction but it will be some time before it's ready for any kind of main stream use. What I am waiting for is further improvements in the Apple Watch. I expect at some point the watch to be able to actively monitor blood sugar, O2 levels, heart rate and be able to actively detect things that we are otherwise unable to see. What if eating an apple cause a weird spike where to us we just don't feel that great, but we never connect that apple to the problem. If we have an active system that can monitor and connect the dots I think it could change the quality of life just as what s mentioned in the article.

HI John
I myself can see the benefits, but given the current circumstances - I personally have no trust that the average GP or Health Board are geared up to provide the level of trust, integrity and protection I would expect. I can see you point of view, in fact earlier this year, I walked into an outlet with some colleagues and had a coffee. I felt ill within five minutes of drinking that coffee in this case, so perhaps if the outlet had used old milk, I guess this would of signaled to someone - we have a food problem here and it could be investigated etc.
However, given the propensity of mankind to make a lot of money materially out of this, I personally do not hold a great deal of trust or hope that someone somewhere will not abuse it for their purposes or on behalf of others.

I am with you John, I have an inherent mistrust in governments and definitely would not want a GP to make such a decision.
I do however see that this could benefit a % of the population but wonder if it is far too soon to tell the real benefits from the made up stories.

Yes, I think I am letting my optimism get the better of me. I guess I just need to at times to try to keep having a level of hope and faith. In reality to me far to many people are either just greedy or manipulative and do things for their or good. I am actually one of these silly people who enjoy when I can perform an act of random kindness, or help when I can expecting nothing in return. Idk..

What OSI level would the brain interface at?
Somewhere between Physical and Data but am leaning to Physical

@dcontesti It all makes sense now, the people with the tinfoil hats were just early adopter of the tech and the hats where firewalls!
