Hello Yves
Just read it!
It was good to get a selection of articles giving a good overview of the technical requirements and issues related to compliance with GDPR.
I thought the article you wrote, together with Paul Lanois and Visia Tartaglione, was very useful and the hint towards the rationale behind GDPR at the end very true.
'As the EU Commission has now frequently declared, the pursuit of digital markets relies on the development of people’s trust.’
Ensuring consumer trust is likely to be key to success in future so companies that are transparent with how they use data should do better. If GDPR makes companies think about how they can adopt high standards of ethics in their handling of our personal data then it will have done us all a favour.
We should see more control over our data, however it will be interesting to see whether are we prepared to pay for that additional control if providers change their business models as a result...
Kind regards
Andy
