Really? Seriously? You have to tell some people not to do these things?
Yes, of course I believe it. I mean, like the song says, the world is full of stupid people. But I'm afraid that my first impulse, were a volcanic vent to open up nearby, would be to put out a bag of marshmallows, some (very short) sticks, and wait for Darwin to take over ...
At least the guy they quoted knew enough to ask if it would be poisonous... 😉
I've seen a lot crazier things happen in HI ... like walking across freshly cooled flows only to find out that their shoe is flammable when it breaks the top layer to the still molten lava underneath. Or tourists trying to body surf Sandy's because "America's a free country" after telling them not to go into the water....

I had mainland friends show up but miss meeting me at Sandys... one got to stay an extra 3 weeks in HI... in Queens Medical. The other I got all bustup pulling him out of the water because he wouldn't ride a wave back in for almost 3 hours. 6' face shore break... ❤️
It's why packages have "Use only as directed" on them. People have to be told not to be stupid.
