Australia likely to get its own GDPR

The mandatory data breach notifications laws coming into effect in Australia next year will be followed by other laws to ensure everyone in the digital ecosystem -- including government divisions, large corporates, small to medium-size enterprises (SMEs), and consumers -- are playing their role in keeping Australia "cyber secure", according to Senator Bridget McKenzie.

Re: Australia likely to get its own GDPR

Well it is here, and operational.  So, this puts pressure on the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner to review our own Privacy Act 1993.   What is the impact of NDB on Australia?  A survey indicates that at least 60% of all Australian organisations, have no idea whatsoever.   What will be the impact of a similar legislation on New Zealand businesses?
