question regarding ISC2 Cissp Exam Retake Policy

I have a question regarding ISC2 Cissp Exam Retake Policy.
If I don’t pass a FOURTH time, how long should I wait to retest?

180 days from my fourth attempt ?
If not, all the records reset and the cycle begins again - which means 30 days from my fourth attempt ?

Thanks. ASAP

Will this answer be maintained in 2020?

@Apple11 You are correct.  You must wait 180 days between all failed attempts after your third try.  Here's how it works out:

Exam Attempt 1: wait 30 days before exam 2
Exam Attempt 2: wait 90 days before exam 3
Exam Attempt 3: wait 180 days before exam 4

Exam Attempt 4: wait 180 days before exam 5

Exam Attempt 5: wait 180 days before exam 6

...and so on

When did the policy you answered the questions below change?

Re: Question on retake of exam: Timing after 1st attempt

Not a problem! After the third exam attempt, you would have to wait 180 days to take the exam again. Then if you fail the fourth attempt, it will revert back to the original wait period (30/90/180 or 90/90/180). For example, if the candidate failed the third attempt at the CISSP, they would wait 180 days for the fourth attempt and if that attempt is failed, the fifth attempt would be 30 days. Important to remember though, you can only take an exam 3 times in one calendar year.

Just to clarify, this question was asked previously:

https://community.isc2.org/t5/Exams/Question-on-retake-of-exam-Timing-after-1st-attempt/m-p/19797/hi...

At that time, your predecessor, Amanda, mentioned it went back to 30/90/180 days after the 4th attempt - which surprised me as I was expecting it to remain at 180 days as per the seemingly new policy.

Could you 100% confirm 180 days between every attempt after unsuccessful attempt number 4 is definitively the current policy please?

@AlecTrevelyan I can confirm the wait is 180 days.  There is no clock that starts over.  As to when/if there was a policy change, I can't say.

Thanks Tony - that's much more in keeping with my expectations.

Amanda said it was allowed until September 2019, but I can't believe it changed without notice.
I'm sorry, but is there any way to know the details of the change?

@Apple11 To find out when/if/why the policy changed, I'll have to inquiry with my colleagues. Please allow me be a few business days to see what I can find out.

Thanks,

Tony

I'd like to share if there are any users who are curious about my question. I was told not to ask any more questions about the previous regulations. Further questions can be personally disadvantaged by the isc2 regulations.🙃🙃🙃
