Was about to complain that paying via PayPal still doesn't work, but thought of giving it another try after disabling proxy (using Zscaler at work), and it worked after clicking the yellow button showing "processing". Can't tell if the proxy was the blocking reason or that the process required that extra click after going through the PayPal authentication process, something worth trying by the next person reaching this forum. I suspect it was not the proxy as I did a recent payment via PayPal and it went seamlessly with Zscaler on.
