Converting Associate membership to full certification

I have an employee who passed the SSCP exam (as a new BS Cyber grad) and has now completed her 2-year experience requirement. But when she applies for full SSCP certification it rejects her application stating that she is ineligible since it has been more than 9 months since she passes exam. How is a candidate supposed to get 2 years of experience in 9 months?

Anyone else experience this issue?

Aren't we telling people to join now, and then get their experience to attain full certification?

Once an Associate of ISC2 has gained the necessary work experience for the certification they are pursuing, you must submit the endorsement application. This process must be completed prior to the last day of the last year that you can hold the Associate designation.

Once the application is reviewed and approved, you will receive an email confirmation outlining the next steps towards certification. You will be instructed to log in to your dashboard to pay the upgrade AMF of U.S. $75 before a three-year certification cycle can be started.

A new three-year certification cycle will start once the upgrade payment is received. You will then be fully certified member of ISC2.

Start the Certification Application

You will be required to provide an endorser – another ISC2-certified professional in good standing – who can attest to your experience. If you do not know another ISC2-certified professional, you can opt for ISC2 to endorse you.

Your endorser will attest that your assertions regarding professional experience are true to the best of the endorser’s knowledge, and that you are in good standing within the cybersecurity industry. You will need the endorser’s member/certification number when filling out the online application.

You will also be asked to provide your relevant work experience (requirements vary by certification) and can also provide any experience waiver based on certifications held or higher education degrees completed.

Once your certification application has been approved, the final step in the process is to pay your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) . If you already hold an ISC2 certification you will not have to pay an additional AMF for your latest certification.
