Whilst reading the various ways of earning CPE credits, I understand that taking online self-paced training is taken into account. Is this only isc2 offered training? Reason why I ask, for example, if I were studying to achieve a certification from a well known Next-Gen Firewall vendor, and once one completes a particular module, the candidate is given a certificate to validate its completion, can I then use this time invested on studying this towards getting CPE credits accordingly? Or is the online self-paced training only applicable to those courses offered by ISC2?
Thank you,
You can defiantly use training not provided by ISC2. If it fits within one or more of the domains then it would be a type A, but if it is more general it might be a type B. Firewall training is security related so it would qualify as type A. I don't have the domains memorized so I can't think of which domain it falls into off the top of my head.
Hope this helps.
