An interesting discussion going on in Peerlyst, which I think others will want to consider and comment upon:

But did they consider that the IoT, IIoT, OT domain, could have been doing this without their knowledge for a considerable amount of time even before surveillance came to a head?

A lot is going on here, and we should care about the difference between corporate adn government tracking and when government  leverages corporate tracking data.
