This reminds me of pricing the soda in a machine differently based on how hot it is outside, or jacking up the price of drugs because you’re the only supplier and the market will bear it, or Skinner box freemium mobile games with loot boxes metered at many multiples of what people would pay for a full game.
The fact there were no time based thresholds/limits set on total payments might mean that Uber thought the ability to calculate and charge ‘everything’ at a certain point might have made sense... anyone for some regulation?
