The sharing community comes to mobile data gathering for 2nd tier intel players and chums?

Well, here's a thing, the EFF(who broke it with Lookout) link was very slow(wonder if it's linked?): https://www.eff.org/press/releases/eff-and-lookout-uncover-new-malware-espionage-campaign-infecting-... But the Reg is booming through: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/18/dark_caracal_malware/ One question though will this be a better user experince than Air B'N'B?

So, trojanized versions of COMSEC apps distributed through non-official app stores/sideloading?

Sound like a good talking point for Apple. But seriously though, between Google spying and the prevalence of Android-based mobile malware, i honestly can’t say I’m likely to switch any time soon (maybe to a Pixel running Copperhead OS, but that’s a big maybe)

Yeah, I do wonder how much of it is still a cargo cult, and how much has now accelerated past the ability of the intelligence agencies to contain - were effectively seeing marketplaces for this stuff and if you were a cash-strapped state with a decent cyber capability you might choose to monetise it, and train your people into the bargain. It's striking how little moral high ground there is in any of this.

For Google, well a good friend of mine suffers poor search and inferior mapping as he won't trust them. Apple want to sell to you/Google want to sell you type argument.
