Neuromorphic Computing - what can you do with it?

Hi All

What can you do with Neuromorphic Computing?

Remember Colossus at Bletchley Park, and think about its capabilities compared to this chip?

Well, you could, for example, implant a chip into the brains of people who had,
say, passed a security certification exam, so that when, perhaps, their cert passed
the expiration date without them paying the next year's AMF, they wouldn't be
able to think about security ...

Is it just me or does it seem like someone watched Battlestar Galactica, saw the Cylon tiger had a biological brain and said hey ya let's do that?!?!

It seems a little far fetched to think they will be able to do much that is meaningful beyond reproducing the basics since we do not fully understand the human brain and we cannot treat problems that so many mentally based problems that people have. Maybe going from this direction might bring new light to those problems but I have my doubts. What I really wonder is how does this perform and compare to the quantum systems that are out there?

HI @JKWiniger USA Defense invested Billions of dollars, into this and yes, it exists - a new chip has been created to do as it states.  It is used to defend Defense systems, highly expensive, but it actually does exist, and it works very efficiently.

You can read about it here:  https://www.zurich.ibm.com/st/neuromorphic/

@Caute_cautim I open this to read but will have it for the AM when my brain can handle it a little better, but I will ask, so this isn't touching on full on organic computing it is?
