A fairly complicated intellectual property case.
McDonalds sued an Irish franchise called Supermac's, claiming it violated their trademark on the Big Mac. That turns out to have been a legal mistake, and resulted in McDonalds losing the Big Mac trademark. The legal decision seems to have turned on the fact that the Big Mac is a product, not a chain, and Supermac's is a chain, not a burger.
