First phones, now drones ...

OK, if you haven't been hiding under a rock for the past year, you know that Huawei is under suspicion of capturing data and feeding it back to the Chinese government.  Banned from telecom infrastructure, phones not being updated, that sort of thing.

 

Now Chinese manufacturer DJI, which makes about 80% of all drones used in the US and Canada, is suspected (by the US DHS) of doing something similar, (collecting location and flight data) ...

Mass surveillance by default - ingenious Chinese.

Obviously using the 100 year principles, hide in plain sight, until found and then deny everything.

Very cryptic - depends on whether you define a Drone as a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and whether or it is classified as an aeroplane?

I usually define a drone as a completely useless person who just talks on and on in one unvarying monotonous pitch until all hearers fall asle ...

Now DJI. the Chinese company at the centre of the furor, is promising that it's new drones will come with plane and helicopter "detection" features, to avoid collisions.

To avoid collisions? Or for targetting? ...
