Microsoft's Edge browser has a secret whitelist for Flash apps that allows Facebook, and some other sites, to run Flash apps without normal security checks.
Since Flash is possibly responsible for global warming all by itself, this isn't great purely on the face of it. But what else does it allow Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo, and others, to do? (Oh, wait. Microsoft seems to have trimmed the list down. To Facebook. I feel so much better? ...)
@rsladeGreat notification, however, why do we allow such organisations to simply fix it, and allow the rest of the public feel the ramifications? Are we all global software guinea pigs? Are we simply the open public, a huge DevOps environment? It also shows the overall complexity and decisions that software companies make - sufficient testing, to meet their business requirements without going through exhaustive testing regimes - it costs too much. Enough is sufficient.
It really comes down to the fact, they the software companies don't really care.
