Drones grounded

OK, risk management question time!

Which is worse, having to ground your drone fleet and not being able to have data about dams, floods, wildfires, other natural disasters, species at risk, etc, or using Chinese drones that report back unknown amounts and types of data to China?

This article has a decent summary of what the user has for control of if it is a DJI drone.  Chances are they are DJI drones as they have the lions share of the market and rightfully so.

I'm a licensed FAA UAS pilot. I own a DJI drone. I'm in the market for my second DJI drone.  The hype that has been in the media does not worry me.

With the detail that is available in Google Earth, Bing Maps and Apple Maps I'm really not getting the concern.  Our adversaries have their spy satellites that can count the hairs on the butt of a flea from way out in space.  We are no different.
