Don't bother reading this--it's fake news

Sweden has issued a pamphlet to its population, nationwide, calling on citizens to prepare for war.  One of the preparations they warn about is the threat of fake news (see page 6).

While the material is not exactly rivetting, I am, in these days of claims that everyone is welcome to choose his or her (or its) own facts, heartened to see at least some movement in the right direction ...

Re: Don't bother reading this--it's fake news

For years now there has been a great deal of discussion within the intelligence community as to what constitutes war in and unto itself.

The article is only suggesting that Swedes be prepared when others would say we are already at war. Not a shooting or "hot war" but a new phase espionage or "cold war" This "cold war" if you will has a new favorite weapon - InfoSec.

The US Government has a similar program you may recall: https://www.ready.gov/make-a-plan

Just another turn in the wheel.

Rob,

Learned a new fact today.  86% of the population of Sweden speaks English.

When I first read the pamphlet you linked, I was like... "Nah... in English?"   This world fact thing is hard.  Who Knew?

Sincerely,
