Telegram, which has been used by activists to circumvent government surveillance and censorship, saw a massive denial of service type attack in the wake of the Hong Kong protests, with most of the traffic originating from Chinese IP addresses. Telegram's CEO said the cyberattack was "state actor-sized."
(It hasn't necessarily worked, since the contentious "extradition" law that sparked the protests has been put on hold for the time being, even if not cancelled.)
