The FTC called on OpenAI to provide detailed descriptions of all complaints it had received of its products making “false, misleading, disparaging or harmful” statements about people. Makes sense to me.  People and legal entities should be held responsible for the statements they make.  One of the big reasons I am big into citing sources.... makes it clear who caused the harm (e.g. "not me").

Hi Denbesten,

I am right there with you , ". . . I am big into citing sources . . ."   I found an interesting article today that touted 'a recent study showed . . .' and THEN, did not provide a link, or even a title of the 'recent study.'

I won't use it in my research if it doesn't cite an authoritative source!!!

Doing doctoral research for five years and writing a dissertation certainly helps with learning how to properly cite a source. Of course, Zotero and the new tools in MS Word help too.
