If ever there was a time, to think about the implications of what Facebook is doing and planning - it is now, before it is too late. What are the ethical implications and can we really trust Facebook, people to really think through the ramifications of their decisions?
What do others think? vapourware? Too hard bucket? The future is scary..... You will be influenced to give away your most trusted information, so how can you stay secure, if the human is under the influence via a brain interface, glasses with Facebook? But others may state, if Facebook don't do it, then Google will do it or another nation will do it.

Not sure why but this leaves me very worried.

Given the complete lack of ethical base for anything that FB is involved in, it should worry us all.
That said, direct brain-to-digital-control interfaces is a critical and vitally important area of research in the fields of advanced prosthesis and exo-skeleton assistance systems for amputees and paraplegics, as well as for physical workers and soldiers. Just imagine how effective Ripley could have been in her power loader if she were not encumbered by the joystick controls.

I came across this and thought it was worth a chuckle:
OK, Facebook develops a direct brain interface.
At the same time that they're developing a virtual reality world. (Called Horizon.)
And then we all get directly loaded into the VR ...
(Cue theme music from "The Matrix"?)
