The US, in trying to refight the crypto wars, now wants to ban end-to-end encryption. (Maybe.)
The EU has been thinking about it, but now seems to have decided (correctly) that it's a non-starter.
But if the US goes with the crypto ban, that could have implications for the EU-US Privacy Shield agreement (formerly Safe Harbor) ...
