Porthcawl, a Welsh seaside town (with, presumably, a major tourism sector) plans to install public toilets with measures to prevent people having sex inside, including a squealing alarm, the doors shooting open, and a chilly spray of water.
They'll have motion sensors to detect "violent" movement. How violent? Will you have to be careful to keep your movements slow and deliberate when, well, cleaning up, at the end of the process?
And they'll have weight sensors, to detect the entrance of more than one person. Oh, really? I'm easily the weight of two (or more) teenagers.
I strongly suspect that this technical "solution" needs a bit more thought ...
Public toilets that will end up being used by a tiny percentage of the public --- assuming they don't get demolished shortly after being built...
