"In 2019, I expect that consumers will start to reclaim control of their data and monetise it," says Phil Beckett, managing director of disputes and investigations at management consultancy Alvarez and Marsal.

 

I would love for Phil Beckett's quoted expectation to come to fruition. However, taking control of consumer data will have a learning curve even after laws such as GDPR and CCPA begin to enable it. And monetizing it is on the way with web browsers such as Brave, and BAT cryptocurrency solutions for monetization. I hope adoption can occur in 2019, but 2020 or 21 seems more feasible. Nonetheless, thanks for the contribution. I appreciate it.
