Volunteering with your Language Skills

ISC2 Former Staff

Fluent in another language? Let’s put it to good use and earn CPEs!

After finding out more about the Safe and Secure Online program, we wanted to let you know about another opportunity to help if you would prefer to stay a little more “behind the scenes.”  After hearing from members around the world wanting to use the Safe and Secure Online presentations in their Community, we have come up with a way to make that happen.

In an effort to better serve the global market, Safe and Secure Online materials are being translated to different languages with the help of volunteer members worldwide.

Benefits of volunteering:

  • Better serve your community with materials in their native language
  • Help make the cyber world a safer place for everyone
  • Improve your translation skills

Here's what previous volunteers had to say:

“Really enjoyed working on this project with you. Looking forward to the next time!”

“That is great news! We've been waiting in the chapter for this [translated documents], since one of our initiatives is education children”

Interested in learning more? Here are the requirements:

  • Be fluent in English and a second language
  • Be active in the Community language group (pending an invitation)
  • Have a desire to better serve your community in its native language

If you want to join please email me at bparres@isc2.org with the language you are fluent in and Community username.

This project and volunteer opportunity came from the ideas of our members. We’d love to hear any other ideas on how the Center can help to promote a safe and secure cyber world for everyone. Share your ideas and feedback below.
