New (ISC)² Community Layout!

New (ISC)² Community Layout!

SamanthaO_isc2
ISC2 Former Staff

Based on feedback from our recent survey on the (ISC)² Community and with talking to various Community members, we have decided to re-organize the Community just a little bit. A big thank you to everyone who supplied us with feedback through the survey, the Community boards, and by directly engaging with the Admins/Mods in the Community!

Let’s go over the details of the new layout:

  • We added a new top-level category called “The (ISC)² Exchange”. This helps to differentiate between questions to (ISC)² or questions around something related to (ISC)². With this in mind, we moved the following boards to this area: Chapters, Certifications, and Customer Support (previously named “Ask (ISC)²”).
  • We added a new board called “(ISC)² Updates” that this post is in. This will be an area where you will find announcements, news, and updates directly from (ISC)². These posts could be related to the Community, like this one, or relating to another aspect of the organization like letting you know when Early Bird Pricing for Security Congress goes live, the nominations for ISLA awards open, or we have new information about an Industry topic.
  • The Discussions top-level category now focuses on more peer to peer related topics. The boards remaining in this area are: Welcome, Career, GDPR, and Industry News.

With this new layout of the Community, we hope it helps to separate out the areas where (ISC)² will hop into more often (the “(ISC)² Exchange” section) versus the Discussion area where we will be a little more hands-off. This also lays the groundwork for us to start looking into creating new areas (technical board, anyone?) that are crowdsourced from you, the Community members.

We hope that you like this new layout and we encourage you to leave your feedback, thoughts, and suggestions in the comments below. Alternatively, you can send feedback directly to me or any of the other Admins, or by emailing community@isc2.org.
