Hi Guys, i was reading through International Laws chapter regarding about Data Subject Rights about GDPR articles 15 to 22 mentioned about rights to erasure. In this case, if a single individual were to go up to their regulatory or their local government (Assuming in EU state) to request for erasure of their record is it something that local government will need to comply too?
I am rather green to this GDPR law, would hope someone have better understanding shine some light to me.
~Always welcome for Comments~
Cheers!
In answer to your question if in EU and GDPR applies - affirmative.
There would have to be good extenuating circumstances for local government not to adhere to the GDPR regulations, even central government has to adhere to them too or national interest circumstances for it not to be applied to a situation. Local Government less likelihood this would occur.
But even if you are not in GDPR territory, you will need to check Privacy Commissioners web site and local legislations as well.
