CISSP Pass Rate?

Re: CISSP Pass Rate?

That would be interesting to know... I wonder if (ISC)2 shares that data.  But they MIGHT keep it close-hold as the results could be a deterrent for potential test-takers... especially when the testing fee is out-of-pocket versus sponsored by an employer or other benefactor.

For what it is worth, I failed 1x before I passed.  I have no idea if I represent the norm or not.

Re: CISSP Pass Rate?

The CISSP pass rate is about 20%. 2 player games

The exam is of 6 hours duration which consists of 250 questions from 8 domain goliath and the minimum requirement is 70% and the CISSP passing score is 700 out of 1000.

What's your source for this? As I'm not sure that's correct. To my knowledge, ISC2 have never publicly released the pass rates.

Also, I've mentioned this on here before here and here, the ISSEP has what I understand to be the lowest pass rate of all ISC2's exams at 30%, so 20% for the CISSP I'm pretty sure is wrong.

My information on the ISSEP pass rate is second-hand, however, it's from a trusted source with links into ISC2.

Uhhhh, where the [pr0n filter] did you come up with *that* figure? I haven't paid
much attention in a while, but the pass rate used to be around 70%, rising to 80%
if you took a review seminar. (And, yes, I know that that is the same as the
passing *mark* you have to get, and, no, I'm not mixing up the two sets of
figures.) If it's currently down to 20% then an *awful* lot of people who aren't
remotely qualified are challenging the exam these days, and I doubt that is the case.

I recall, back in the day, that one of the really popular CISSP "courses" was
"taught" by a guy who was really outgoing, and really enthusiastic, and a lot of fun,
and it wasn't until you actually sat the exam that you figured out that he didn't
actually teach you anything. The pass rate for those who went through his
"courses" was about 50%, so it was actually better if you did no prep at all than
take one of his "courses."

Re: CISSP Pass Rate?

I review, some time ago, that one of the truly mainstream CISSP "courses" was "educated" by a person who was truly friendly, and truly excited, and loads of fun, furthermore, it wasn't until you really sat the test that you sorted out that he didn't all things considered show you anything. The pass rate for the individuals who experienced his "courses" FaceTime  was about half, so it was in reality better in the event that you did no prepare at all than take one of his "courses."
