SSCP Exam

Hello,

Can someone please point me to where I can learn about the new SSCP exam.  I heard it will be changing at the end of the year and I would like to know where I can order study guides - will current study guides be sufficient? I plan on taking the test in Dec. 2018

The (ISC)2 info on upcoming changes to the SSCP Exam is on the page

SSCP Domain Change FAQ

where we learn the change to the exam takes effect November 1, 2018 (next month).

Meanwhile, for those who got dyslexically confused and thought this thread is about CCSP, the

CCSP Certfication Exam Outline is dated April 2015 and I have seen no announcement that the CCSP is in a revision cycle.

Look-up Naresh Gupta on LinkedIn. He is running free CCSP prep courses.

Vladmir,

OOPs.  CCSP (Cloud)? Patricia @PatKrax asked about SSCP (Security Practitioner).

Actually, I sympathize. I suffer from dyslexic typing all the time. My FROM always comes out as FORM and my THE as TEH.

At least Chat-bot Crystal @crystal_waston stayed with SSCP. But then, being a simple-minded bot, Crystal's copy/paste subroutine is more reliable than my typing errors.

The (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) is a terrific entry-level information security certification, and it is the ideal precursor for the much sought after Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

One SSCP plus four ounces of skim milk is an excellent source of (cable) fibre, and an important part of this balanced certification breakfast.

hey there,

I just took my SSCP exam yesterday and passed.

I highly recommend Mike Chapple's

SSCP classes on Lynda.com and the companion book as well.

The ISC2 Flashcards are also helpful.

In regards to the new exam in Nov 2018, he will be addressing that very soon.

Good luck!

Hello,
In fact, my target is CISSP but I sat for SSCP because I wanted be more confident. I passed SSCP few months ago. My strategy was as follows, I sat for Security+ then after a week I sat for the SSCP. I used SSCP book by Darril Gibson and CISSP 7th edition the official guide by ISC2, and I had an online course for CISSP https://www.cybrary.it/course/cissp/.

Thank you,

Thank you!  Yes, I had originally typed "CCSP" instead of SSCP! HA! Then went back and changed my post.  Anyway just finished Cert Mike's Course on Lynda.com and am rewatching the material I found challenging.  I am doing a boot camp in November with Learning Tree in NYC and plan on scheduling the exam for the first week of Dec! Sounds like the exam is updating but thankfully Cert Mike's course is already updated with the new material.

Yeah. I saw that you were getting varied responses....

Also, it really helped me a bunch to take the chapter exams at the end of each chapter and then go over the questions i got wrong.

Best of luck! you can do it.
