Boson practice exam

Dear all,

I have been preparing myself to give the CISSP exam for some months now. I have done the entire study based on online class training, referred to the Sybex Official study guide, & Sybex practice tests.  Some of my friends have adviced me to take up the Boson practice exam (750 Questions) to really judge if I am all good and ready to take the plunge into the real exam.

I am told, this test is a near equal to the actual exam and better than any other practice test thats currently available in the market today.  I look forward to take your candid opinion, if this is a 'definite must' for anyone preparing for the CISSP exam or this is just another couple of practice questions,  which wouldnt really matter if I didnt sign up for it. Thanks in anticipation for your guidance and advice. Cheers

Please don't.

They aren't.  And, for free, you can look at some sample questions and detailed explanations of answers, here on the "community."

Re: Boson practice exam

I used Boson to prepare.  For me, the value was in the detailed explanations they provide for both the correct and incorrect answers. I would screen shot the explanations of the ones I got wrong and use them to study from.

I found practice tests will access your knowledge level of martial, but the actual exam will test your ability to apply that knowledge in sometimes not so straight forward ways.

I have to definitely agree with you on this one. Every question had detailed explainations for all 4 possible options as to why the 3 were incorrect and why the choosen one is correct. I had a chance to review a sample from their site and found it quite interesting.

All i wanted to ensure was, will it definitely be the one thing I shouldnt miss out ( if I want to pass the First time on the exam,) before appearing for the exam after months of preparation.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

Re: Boson practice exam

I just used the practice questions in the ISC2 textbook and All In One.  The usefulness of the questions is in working out if you understand the domain.  If you don't get 80-90% after studying a domain then you really need to redo the CBK, not simply read the explanation of the correct answer.  Don't fall into the trap of thinking you will do well on the exam simply by taking practice tests; try to learn the material by transforming into your own understanding i.e. what works for you in understanding and recalling it.  Personally I precised the textbooks down to a handful of notes and then revised the notes.

Thank you Steve. Thankfully I am also following the same pattern of making personal notes and revising them. Your tips are helpful.

Sorry for the late reply.. I haven’t visited this site for some weeks now

It's not necessary, and it's not that close to the actual exam. Check out

(And, if you want more questions, post a reply under that topic.)
