We are seeking a Cybersecurity Advisor to assist in developing and maintaining a robust cybersecurity program and assistance with operational processes for a prestigious government client. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Cybersecurity Leadership as required to successfully meet program objectives.
  • Research and recommend innovative, secure, and (where possible) automated approaches towards IT/cybersecurity solutions. Identify approaches that leverage Government resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Conduct technical reviews/assessments and develop cybersecurity recommendations based on emerging issues.
  • Design, develop, and maintain unique security tools and techniques for conducting cybersecurity evaluations.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to establish, maintain, and monitor Cybersecurity strategic and tactical goals in alignment with Government Information Security policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the technical security evaluation and testing of new technologies in support of Government operations and provide supporting reviews as directed by Cybersecurity leadership.
  • Create executive facing artifacts for Senior Leadership (i.e., program metrics, roadmaps, presentations).

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with at least 10 years of demonstrated work experience in the Cybersecurity industry providing advisory services to management and executive level staff. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least four (4) years of IT security experience is required.
  • Deep understanding of management, operational and technical cybersecurity principles
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant cybersecurity certifications required.
  • Proven proficiency and understanding of common operating systems and network technologies (Windows, UNIX, Linux, Cisco IOS) and common security tools and scanners.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud and mobile security technologies and tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing (to include technical documentation).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, handling multiple, simultaneous and changing priorities under pressure and tight deadlines within a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to both work independently and function effectively as a member of a team.
