Volunteer Appreciation Week: New Jersey & Tampa Giving Back To Their Communities for ISC2Gether!
We're almost nearing the end of our first month-long ISC2Gether global volunteer initiative, and the stories and photos are begining to roll in!
Both the New Jersey and Tampa Chapters held their volunteer events on Saturday, April 20th with great success.
Twenty Four members from the New Jersey Chapter participated in a food packing event at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and donated a whopping $500 to their organization! With homelessness and food insecurity an ongoing crisis in America and many countries around the world, we thank you for the dedication and care you've brought to your community. Your time and effort has made a huge difference in many lives.
Four separate groups united for the "Keep Pinellas Beautiful: Beach Cleanup", with the Tampa Chapter seamlessly organizing their share of the event. Using bags donated by a local brewery, all groups bandeded together to remove over 2 dozen bags-worth of litter from the beach. This cross-collaboration is a heartening example of what we can acheive when we reach out, pool our resources and unite for a common good. Not only was it an excellent chance to support the community and make new connections with peers in the cybersecurity profession; they left a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful seaside in their wake.
Now that's how you look after your planet with GUSTO!
Keep up the amazing work everyone and keep sending in photos and stories about all your inspiring volunteer efforts! We love to see it!
