Topic: the latest findings from Carbon Black’s Quarterly Incident Response Threat Report (QIRTR)

Summary:
According to the world’s top incident response (IR) professionals, cyberattackers are honing their ability to remain undetected inside the enterprises they’ve breached and evolving their attacks to counter defenders’ response efforts. Most organizations are unprepared to combat such attacks.

Join Carbon Black’s Head of Security Strategy, Rick McElroy, as he review's and discusses the latest findings from Carbon Black’s Quarterly Incident Response Threat Report (QIRTR), including:

Where the vast majority of cyber attacks are generated. i.e.

What are their motivations?

What industries and most susceptible to attacks and why

How counter incident response, lateral movement, and island hopping are emerging as go-to methods for attackers

Verizon and Symantec's reports tell us the big picture numbers but why are attackers going undetected for 211 days? This talk breaks down the actor's motivation and how teams can combat this growing sophistication.

In this talk, you’ll also gain visibility into the collective experience and insight from nearly 40 leading IR companies who participated in Carbon Black’s quarterly report.

(ISC)2 San Diego Chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. In support of (ISC)2 Chapter's mission to Connect | Educate | Inspire | Secure, guests and students are welcome. (ISC)2 members will receive 2 hours of Continuing Professional Education credits, please remember to bring your membership number.
