The Dutch Chapter ran into some misunderstanding/miscommunication surrounding the Safe and Secure Online (SaSO, https://safeandsecureonline.org) material.
At various moments in time we were told the SaSO material was free for use by (ISC)2 chapters.
However, it turns out this EXCLUDES all Garfield material.
If you translate the material, you will still have to pay $50,000 to get it produced through the official channel (the PAWS studio) in order not to infringe copyrights and such. This holds for both print and video.
Better find a local comic creator who is willing to contribute to the good cause.
I never liked Garfield anyway...
I sow someone from these guys working at Govware 2017 on the Dutch booth:

Seemed very good at the cartooning, in Amsterdam and they might be willing to do something pro-bono for the cyber community, especially given ISC2's platform.
I would think getting a line of characters that children already recognise / identify with is half the work. So getting a well known character on board would really help.
Is this Garfield thing non-negotiable by the US part of ISC with the copyright holder?
Alas, no. At least it seems not.
They have a very specific view on translation and production for another language.
Let us indeed discuss what we can do when we meet face-to-face.
