Is there anyone from the Denver Chapter of ISC2?

I have been trying to contact leadership in the Denver Chapter of ISC2 in an effort to join the Chapter and participate in any available activities or training.  I feel it is necessary to network with other professionals as I begin my career in Cybersecurity and would like to have the chance to get to know others in the field.  I was excited to find out that there is a Denver Chapter and so I have sought to join the chapter for the last 6 months leading up to my certification.  I have sent multiple emails and have received none in response.

Is there anyone from the Denver Chapter Management or any active members that can assist me in my effort to join the chapter?  What is required to join, and how do I?

So it looks like this chapter may be having problems.  Their website  (isc2denver.org) is not functioning.

Maybe we could ask @AndreaMoore to pass along to the folks working with Chapters for an assist?

I did note that there is a chapter in Pike's Peak (not sure how far that is from Denver) but they are doing virtual meetings.

Hope this helps a little.

Thank you. I have reached out to the Pikes Peak Chapter. They responded
to me and have welcomed me. I am only about 30 min away from Denver and 50
min away from Colorado Springs and so it isn't that much different for me
to go when things get back to normal. I will be happy to participate in
any way I can be it virtually or I person. 🙂

Thank you again for your quick response and willingness to help me out.

An admirable position.

Unfortunately, over the years since Chapters have been formed, it has been noted
that a number have formed--and then nothing has happened. People start a
chapter, and then, either exhausted by the chapter formation process (which is
pretty arduous), or just losing interest, never get around to holding meetings.

Or, it may simply be that we, as the guardians of IT, are not, as so many are, out
of work right now: we are, in fact, busier than ever. (This does not mean we
should neglect to "meet" somehow, but it does make it harder for us to do so. And
you have to keep bugging people.)

You might want to contact the Chapters office, and see about staging a coup-de-
Chapter, and revivifying it. Or, look at Chapters like San Diego or Vancouver
that have been holding virtual meetings and see if you can join in with them. (I
*think* Vancouver is holding a virtual meeting on Friday this week, with a
speaker from New Zealand. See http://www.infosecbc.org/ but you may have to
keep checking as the meeting details are still "in process" ...)

Hi David,

As others have pointed out in this thread, we have an active chapter in the Colorado Springs area.

I'm the membership chairman for the Pikes Peak region chapter.  I figured I'd post a link to our info for any others who may be looking for a chapter in Colorado, at least until the Denver chapter resolves their issues and gets running again.

Please feel free to check out our info here:  https://www.isc2chapter-pikespeak.org

Our meetings are held virtually for now, and we meet the 4th Wed of each month at 5:00pm

David,

The Denver Chapter is alive and well. As others have pointed out, this past year was a retooling of sorts that needed to be done. You can find information on our website: https://www.isc2denver.org. The presentation from our annual meeting will get posted soon. You can also find us in the Group Hub here on the ISC2 message board.
