SSCP Training Strategy

I would like some input on what would be the best strategy in pursuing training for the SSCP certification. Being on a limited personal budget, would online training and textbooks prepare me for the exam?

I’d recommend textbooks (Sybex). Do you have any experience in the field either directly or indirectly? If not, find a book that provides details and goes in depth. When I prepared for my CISSP, I read the 1200+ pages cover to cover and took notes. Pace yourself and treat it like a part time job (I studied 2-3 hours a day).

Thanks for the advice!

I do hold an Applied Science degree in Cybersecurity and manage network endpoint security solutions (Symantec & Malwarebytes) for my organization, along with Nexpose, White Cloud Security and SecureVue.

Any reason why you don’t want to study for the CISSP? You definitely have the background and experience. I’ll admit, the test is a beast, but there’s no need to second guess yourself. Go for it!!
