Many Members and Candidates Lack a Clear Understanding about the Associate of (ISC)2 Program

As I travel around the world, I'm frequently surprised by how many members I meet that really don't understand the Associate of (ISC)² Program. The program was launch back in 2003 for those that lack the required experience to hold and (ISC)² certification.  Since the launch of the program over 15,000 people have held the Associate of (ISC)² designation, while working on getting the required experience. Over 85% of those 15,000 people went on to hold and (ISC)² certification.

The Associate of (ISC)² Program is great for those switching careers to cybersecurity, those that lack required experience and for organizations to use to build their cybersecurity workforce pipeline.

To learn more, please view these two short whiteboard commercials that do a nice job explaining the program and the process.  The third URL is to our Associate homepage that has additional information.

Great message David!  I think the stigma of having the needed experience first prevents people from sitting for the exam as they believe they need the experience to be able to pass as well.  I know as members, we are the ones that can help break that stigma and spread the word for young professionals, or people starting a second career.  This is a great way for folks to start in the industry after sitting for the exam and still feel a part of the (ISC)2 Family!
