Cybersecurity Operations Engineer

Job Summary: 

This position will report to MAC’s Cyber Security Architect. Performs daily monitoring and analysis of MAC’s Cybersecurity tools. Works with IT operations to address normal cybersecurity issues. Performs routine CyberSecurity assessments. Develops and tracks routine remediation plans. Promotes and assists in deployment of tools and process in alignment with MAC’s Cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor O365/Windows Defender Security Portals and respond to incidents
  • Monitor existing security services and respond
  • Perform system audits
  • Perform Vulnerability Assessment Scans
  • Perform Internal Penetration Tests
  • Manage Rapid7 and O365 Security Portal Operations
  • Assist in Security Awareness Campaign
  • Develops System Security Plans and Documentation

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid background in network and systems administration as they relate to security best-practices
  • Familiarity with Antivirus / Antimalware Solutions
  • Comprehension of top security threats (OWASP Top 10, SANS 25, NVD, etc.) and their remediation techniques
  • Experience with tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Psexec or similar solutions
  • Experience working with command-line interfaces
  • Experience with cloud-based security operations such as AWS and Azure
  • Familiarity with Vulnerability Management Solutions (Qualys, Nessus, Rapid 7)
  • Understanding of application interoperability and how to troubleshoot potential conflicts / impacts of security tool agents on endpoints
  • Broad knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, iOS, Android, VMware) and common business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a Workstation or Server Engineering role is preferred. Other work experience (IT and Security) will be taken into account
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CHFI and Security+ are preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree requested but will consider comparable work experience (5+ years) in lieu of degree.
