IT/ Cyber Security Engineer - DOD & Commercial Industry

BlueWave is looking for a IT/ Cyber Security Engineer to join a global simulation company who will be responsible for the execution and management of multiple IT/ Cyber Security projects and resources. This position will have responsibility for the expansion of the IT/ Cyber program in the DOD and DOE sectors. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work this candidate will perform and the information he/she will be responsible for within the company's facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, maintaining, and evolving the IT system architecture and design
  • Anticipating and evaluating the threats and vulnerabilities associated with ICS introduced by emergent technologies
  • Communicating threats and concerns at an executive level in a clear, concise manner
  • Identification, authentications, and authorization
  • Network/Security Management
  • STIGs
  • A&A documentation
  • Interfaces with customer and government security auditors

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: BS degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Experience in IT engineering, system security analysis, and/or network operations with at least 10 years (flexible) of recent experience in security related development is desired
  • Experience in information assurance and system level certification and accreditation, network design, and network management is preferred.
  • Strong research capabilities
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong communications (written and oral), and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented
  • The ability to multi-task with good time-management skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Must have supported cyber projects in either NERC/CIP, US DOD, or DOE Nuclear environments
  • Intimately familiar with the current US NRC Interpretations of the current Cyber Security guidance (a plus)
  • Intimately familiar with NIST special publication 800-171 (a plus)
  • Certifications for one or more of the following: MSCE, CAP; C/EH; INL; CISSP (preferred); CISM; CISA; GIAC Computer Forensics; GIAC Firewalls; Perimeter Protection; GIAC GCIH Incident Handling & Malicious Code; GIAC GSEC SANs Security Essentials, NETWORK+; SECURITY+
